Please join us in an evening event to highlight the AVID Program as a part of the Spring Speaker Series, featuring an exciting panel discussion with: AVID Executive Director, Jim Nelson AVID Director for Texas, Eileen Friou Regional P-16 Council AVID Coordinator, Jonathan Grant Brown AVID & Secondary Advanced Academic Services, Dianne Mata (ECISD) Director of Student Development, Betty Newman (MISD) AVID is a fourth- through twelfth-grade system to prepare students in the academic middle for four-year college eligibility. It has a proven track record in bringing out the best in students, and in closing the achievement gap. AVID stands for Advancement Via Individual Determination.
