P-16: Implications for Communities

Jim Nelson will speak on the P-16 plan as part of the Spring Speaker Series.
 
 

Jim Nelson is the Executive Director of AVID. Nelson has held positions as vast and varied as: Texas Commissioner of Education, Senior VP of State and Federal Relations for Voyager Expanded Learning Systems in Dallas, Superintendent of the Richardson ISD, and ECISD Board Member and Officer. In the spring of 2003, at the request of the White House and Department of Defense, Mr. Nelson traveled to Baghdad as a Senior Advisor to the Iraqi Ministry of Education to assist with the rebuilding of the Iraqi school system.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND: ISD administrators, higher education employees, high school counselors, K-12 teachers, mayors and City Council members, Chamber of Commerce members, civic and group leaders, church leaders, and parents.
